Troemner Accreditations
Troemner Accreditations for Weights, Weight Sets and Calibration Services
It is Troemner's focus to achieve the highest levels of accreditations for weights, mass standards, calibration services and our quality management system. Third party accreditations by internationally recognized organizations provide regular unbiased assessments of Troemner's quality programs and technical capabilities. Accreditations ensure our customers that Troemner meets and maintains the most rigorous testing and manufacturing standards.
Why Accreditation? - Customer benefits of Troemner's accreditations are numerous:
-
Buying with Confidence - Products and services available
through Troemner are held to "world class" standards through
rigorous independent third party audits. -
Global Market Access - Troemner's accreditations are widely
recognized internationally - companies exporting products or
services can avoid the cost and time in re-testing products for many markets. -
Due Diligence - Utilizing the products and services from an
independently accredited facility such as Troemner demonstrates
due diligence in the case of legal or regulatory action.
Troemner has achieved accreditations in various disciplines from NVLAP. In addition, Troemner holds membership and participates in a variety of other quality assurance programs including:
- NIST Mass Measurement Assurance Program
- North East Measurement Assurance Program
- National Conference of Standards Laboratories
- National Conference of Weights and Measures
ISO
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from some 140 countries, one from each country. Established in 1947, the mission of ISO is to "promote the development of standardization and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the international exchange of goods and services, and to developing cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological and economic activity".
ISO 9001:2015
In 1993, Troemner was one of the first companies in the Philadelphia area to achieve ISO 9001 registration. Troemner has a thoroughly documented quality system that ensures our customers receive the products and services they request. Troemner's ISO 9001 quality system has been audited regularly by internal, external, and customer auditors, to ensure our continued compliance with this standard.
ISO 17025:2017
Since 1995, Troemner's Certification Laboratories have been accredited to meet the stringent requirements of ISO 17025, general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. This standard aligns with the requirements of the ISO 9000 standard for developing a quality system, but includes more specific requirements for competence and applies directly to laboratories that provide testing and calibration results.
The two main sections of this standard are Management Requirements and Technical Requirements. The requirements for the laboratory's quality management system, and the operation/continual improvement of this system are included in the Management Requirements section. The required elements for determining correctness and reliability of tests and calibrations carried out in a laboratory are defined in the Technical Requirements section. A laboratory that implements, maintains and continually improves their ISO 17025 quality system can be accredited by a recognized body, such as NVLAP. The accreditation process objectively demonstrates the laboratory's compliance with this standard and competence for performing tests and calibrations.

NVLAP (Lab Code 105013-0)
Troemner's laboratories have been built to meet the specifications prescribed and administered through the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) administered National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP). Troemner is accredited by NVLAP for the specific scope of accreditation under lab code 105013-0. The NVLAP program was originally established in 1976 as an accrediting body for state testing laboratories and was expanded in 1994 to include accreditation for calibration laboratories as well. The mission of NVLAP "is to provide the highest quality accreditation services to its customers and to be recognized nationally and internationally as a 'world class' laboratory accreditation program". NVLAP has broad international recognition with other accreditation organizations. NVLAP mutual arrangements include The International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), and The Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC).
NVLAP accredits laboratories on the basis of their ability to meet certain requirements, such as tight environmental controls and low uncertainties that are defined in the U.S. standard ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 and the international standard ISO/IEC 17025. To obtain and maintain NVLAP accreditation, Troemner must undergo rigorous routine audits. Today, Troemner offers NVLAP accredited mass, mass density determinations, mass magnetic susceptibility determinations, pipette, humidity, pressure, temperature, dimensional, electrical, thermal mass flow, and time & frequency calibrations.
